Tríona Walsh is a writer and poet originally from Stillorgan but now living in Lucan, West Dublin. She has a degree in History and Politics from UCD, a Graduate Diploma in Journalism from DIT, and a Certificate in Art and Design from BCFE. She has enjoyed success with her short stories, having won the Jonathan Swift short story competition and most recently being a runner-up in the Penguin Ireland/RTÉ Guide Short Story Competition in 2014. Her poetry has also been shortlisted in a number of competitions, including The Red Line Book Festival poetry competition (2013) and the Jonathan Swift Poetry Competition (2014). Her novel, The Dead Ringer, was chosen as one of the 12 finalists for the 2015 Irish Writers Centre Novel Fair. She is a member of the performance poetry collective The Poetry Divas. With them, Tríona has travelled the length and breadth of the country performing at festivals and diverse cultural events, including Electric Picnic, Castlepalooza, and Festival of the Fires.
