Synopsis
When retired actress, Ruby Lake, inherits a cottage in an idyllic seaside village in Wales, she is hoping for a life of calm and contentment. Then, early one morning, while walking along the shoreline, she discovers a dead body at the bottom of a cliff. From that moment on, her quiet life is turned upside down and she is plunged headlong into a mystery that threatens to tear the community apart.
The police believe the death was accidental. Ruby is not so sure. Reluctantly, she undertakes her own investigations, determined to find out the truth at all costs. She soon discovers that numerous local people held a grudge against the dead man. But would anyone really be prepared to kill him?
A small seaside village on the dramatic coastline of South-West Wales seemed like the perfect way to get away from all the problems of modern life. But now the locals know there is a murderer in their midst. And maybe only Ruby can find out who it is!
K T Mill was born and brought up in the valleys of South Wales and now lives near a small seaside village which bears some resemblance to the village in the novels but (fortunately) does not suffer from quite so many inexplicable murders.
Welsh Requiem is a gently humorous murder mystery full of wit and warmth. With a cast of quirky characters, this is perfect for fans of M. C. Beaton, Simon Brett and Julia Chapman.
