Captain Sinclair McGregor has spent two years in the frozen hell of a Yankee prison camp. His life as he once knew it has been destroyed by the War. Returning home to Savannah to find his fiancée married to his worst enemy and his ancestral home sold for back taxes to the same man, he knows despair darker than the depths of the Abyss. His life in shambles, his heart broken, with no money or possessions to his name, he is forced to move in with the grandmother who raised him a woman who abused him as a child and despises him as a man. If Sinclair cannot take back the family mansion, she would rather see him dead and sets into motion a plan to have her wishes carried out. But no one counted on the love of four uniquely different women who band together to save Sinclair McGregor's life and soul. Only fate knows if they will be successful or if the ugly hatred of a bitter old woman will condemn him to a final hell.

A gripping story of how far one person will go to destroy another. In the Wind's Eye is a strong, deeply emotional saga with all the mystery, deceit, and treachery of the old south's heritage. Not until the very last are all the loose ends tied up, leaving the reader to know this is a story they will never forget.... Ms. Boyett-Compo is an extemely gifted author with the skill to put together a truly magnificent story. Rich in the flavor of the old south, she has managed, with In the Wind's Eye, to take the reader on an impassioned journey to hell's door and back. A dramatic saga filled with enough betrayal and manipulation to last a lifetime. Truly spectacular, this is a fantastic writer worth the praise and effort of reading.
Tamara McHatton -- Rhapsody Magazine
Lovers of historical romance will revel in this tale by Charlotte Boyett-Compo. The vivid descriptions bring an immediate sense of place, and I found myself quickly transported to a world of passion, hatred, jealousy, vengeance, treachery, and unrequited love. This is a long book, but I had no trouble sitting in front of my monitor while reading. The story is so compelling that I found the hours at the computer whirling past. The characters are captivating, the writing smooth and lush. I was drawn in by the starcrossed tale of Sinclair and Ivonne, and simply could not stop reading until all the twists and turns in the complex plot were resolved. IN THE WIND'S EYE is a treat not to be missed. -- Best-Books.com
