Synopsis
These are the stories of young Harry Winslow and his friendships with the pilots of the Royal Air Force in World War II England. Written for boys but appealing to all, the tales are based on history and depict values such as courage, heroism, and responsibility.

When Hampton Airfield is attacked while the pilots are out on a mission, only Harry knows something that can save the base - and the new Spitfire planes - from destruction. Unfortunately he has been ordered to stay off the base. Orders are meant to be followed, but sometimes it is wise to disobey when there is a good reason.

About the Author
Don Patterson - father of 2 children, found it difficult to find something his elementary aged son was interested in reading. On a visit to a local Air Museum, he found his son had a great interest in World War II aircraft. So the basis for the stories in the "Tales of the RAF" series was started. What was started as a way of interesting his son in reading, is now a labor of love in getting more young people to read - even the reluctant ones.
