Praise for Healing Back and Joint Injuries:
''This book is an outstanding educational resource regarding therapeutic options available for patients afflicted with chronic pain associated with some type of soft tissue injury.''
--Ike Eriator, MD, MPH; professor of anesthesiology and director of the Pain Fellowship Program, University of Mississippi Medical center
''Patient education is one of the most important components of medical care. This book will help the public understand a valuable and relatively inexpensive treatment for chronic musculoskeletal pain arising from connective tissue injures and degeneration. The examples will help readers navigate in the right direction. It is a pleasure to endorse the work.''
--Felix Linetsky, MD, associate professor, Osteopathic Principles and Practice, Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine; president of the American Academy of Regenerative Orthopedic Medicine
''This is a uniquely written book that blends information on the scientific basis of disease and pain management with real-life patient scenarios in a clear and easy to read narrative. It is as enjoyable to read as it is useful for both the doctor and the patient who may have to go through the 'painful process' of choosing a pain management strategy.''
--Rawhi Omar, MD, PhD; professor of pathology and laboratory medicine, University of Louisville School of Medicine; chief, pathology and laboratory medicine service, Deptartment of Veterans Affairs Medical Center; Kentucky State Commissioner for Laboratory Accreditation, College of American Pathologists
Millions of Americans suffer from joint or back injuries and live with chronic pain. If you are one of them, relief is possible, and Dr. Joseph Valdez can show you how to achieve it.
If you have a soft tissue injury, you face a confusing array of choices for your treatment, including the possibility of surgery. By carefully analyzing the treatments available to you, Healing Back and Joint Injuries offers hope for permanent healing. This book will guide you through the process of understanding your injuries, your pain, and your options. And if you've tried a variety of treatments and haven't found relief, prolotherapy may be your best choice.
Prolotherapy involves a series of simple injections into and around injured joints to stimulate the body's natural healing response and repair and strengthen tendons and ligaments. Dr. Valdez explains prolotherapy in detail and also discusses other modern, safe, and effective treatments that have helped thousands of patients live pain free lives, including physical therapy, massage therapy, platelet-rich plasma injections, acupuncture, surgery, and others.
With its balanced, integrative approach, Healing Back and Joint Injuries will help you explore the most promising new therapies in your search for true healing and lasting relief from chronic pain.
