Synopsis

About the Author

John Conway is the Sullivan County Historian. He was historical columnist for the Time Herald-Record newspaper for eleven years, has written a historical column for Kaatskill Life magazine, and his series of historical vignettes for radio, A Look Back, won first-place award from the New York State Broadcasters Association. He is used regularly as an authority on Catskills history by the New York Times, the Associated Press, and by Fox News, and has discussed the legend of Dutch Shultz's buried treasure on the television series Unsolved Mysteries. His book, Retrospect: An Anecdotal History of Sullivan County, was published by Purple Mountain Press in 1996.
