Duane Bernard of Oregon has been married to his wife, Joanne, since 1957, and they have four children. A hunter and outdoorsman since childhood, his entire family now hunts.
Duane is a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, a life member of Safari Club International, National Rifle Association and the Oregon Hunter's Association. He is past president of the Portland Chapter of SCI, and then went on to become regional representative for SCI covering Oregon, Washington and parts of Idaho and British Columbia, Canada. In these capacities he was on the SCI national board of directors for six years. Duane has articles published for several national hunting magazines, including Petersen's Hunting, Hunt, Safari, Oregon Hunter and the Oregon Record Book.
