“Keeping Secrets” is written from the viewpoint of a fourteen-year-old boy who deals with the issues of surviving in spite of living in a dysfunctional home. Dwight, the main character, deals with the unusual circumstances of moving to a new city and having to become the caretaker of the family. “Keeping Secrets” carries the positive message that when things appear as though they can't get worse, there is always someone who can help, and that the changes we sometimes dread, can be our best friend.
