Crystal Kuykendall is currently president and general counsel of her own firm, Kreative and Innovative Resources for Kids, Inc. (K.I.R.K.). She is the former executive director of the National Alliance of Black School Educators and has also served as director of the Urban and Minority Relations Department of the National School Boards Association and Citizens Training Institutes of the National Committee for Citizens in Education. Appointed by President Jimmy Carter to the National Advisory Council on Continuing Education, Dr. Kuykendall served as council chair for two years. A former primary, junior high, and senior high school teacher, Upward Bound and university instructor, and guidance counselor, Dr. Kuykendall holds a doctorate in educational administration from Atlanta University (Georgia), and a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC. She received an Honorary Doctorate, the Doctor of Humane Letters, from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon.
