About the Author:

Ron Kubinski is a managing principal of Strategic Innovation Partnerships LLC, a firm providing training and consulting in innovation, new business growth strategy, market research and new product commercialization.

Kubinski is a recognized industry expert in strategic innovation and has consulted with numerous Fortune 500 companies throughout the world. Some of those companies include 3M, Siemens, Samsung, Philips Electronics, DuPont, Unilever, ABB, Medtronic, Shell, Proctor & Gamble, Con Agra, and Milliken. Kubinski has also provided presentations and workshops at numerous conferences sponsored by organizations such as the Australian Institute for International Research, the Management Roundtable, the American Productivity and Quality Center, the Product Development and Management Association, the Center for Creative Leadership, and the Manufactures Alliance for Productivity and Innovation.

Kubinski is also a hands-on industry veteran with more than 34 years of experience in new product development, customer interfacing, and long-range business planning. Over his 28 years at 3M, a company renowned for innovation, he held a number of management positions including sales, total quality management, new product development, and advanced planning.

During his tenure in charge of new product commercialization at 3M, Kubinski was responsible for providing training and consulting on leading edge processes to accelerate innovation, breakthrough new business growth, and speed time to market. One of Kubinski’s significant contributions was a strategic innovation process to accelerate 3M’s innovation approach to create portfolios of breakthrough new products and services. He termed the process customer-inspired strategic innovation. Kubinski received 3M’s prestigious Circle of Technical Excellence Award in recognized for this accomplishment.

Kubinski is a native of Minnesota where he attended the University of Minnesota and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Further, Kubinski has completed extensive course work in psychology that has been very beneficial in developing cutting-edge customer exploration methodologies.
