This is the second manuscript illuminated by Mary Breeden. The first was Revelations, a collaboration published in 1994. The Book of Daniel was chosen because Daniel's steadfast faith makes him an excellent role model for today. He is a man "greatly beloved" of God. The style of illumination is based on the art of the Persian courts. Persia is the site of ancient Babylon where the story takes place. The calligraphy is a variation of the uncial script and was written in hand ground ink. The borders were painted in opaque water color and 22-karat gold leaf.
