Reviews

This short mystery revolves around murder on Big Sister Island, Connecticut, where Mitch Berger, renowned film critic, rents a house and then unearths his landlady's husband. State Police Detective Desiree Mitry investigates and ultimately teams up with Berger to solve the mystery. Stephen Hoye and Marguerite Jennings switch off narrating from Mitch's and Desiree's points of view. Hoye holds firm control over his New York City and New England accents, slipping only once or twice when the action becomes tight. Jennings uses a more subtle accent for Mitry and softer tones for Berger. The dual, yet non-interactive, narration adds spark to Handler's cunningly contrived story of murder in staid New England.
