How many people get to work at something they have a passion for? I feel very lucky that I do. I think I have made things forever. Fabric, color and texture are my three design passions.
I have traveled the country to teach workshops, and find there is nothing I enjoy more than sharing what I do face to face. This books feels like that too. I have had some great opportunities to design for others: Renee Nanneman's Need'l Love Company, Barb Adams and Alma Allen's Blackbird Designs, and even Linda Brannock's Star Quilt Company.
I design my own line of patterns for wool and other fabrics called A Design from the Butternut House, and also create designs for rug hooking. My studio and shop, Simply Butternut, is a wonderful old 1830's log house not far from my home in Lexington, Missouri.
"Maggie's creativity and love of nature shines forth with each design in this amazing collection. Wonderful whimsical flowers grow out of her charming urns and baskets. Look at the pictures and you will see why this is a book Barb [Adams] and I have been waiting for!" --Alma Allen, of Blackbird Designs
