Gusti was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he studied graphic arts. He has published over 25 books, many of which have been translated into foreign languages. An award-winning illustrator, he has received the Golden Apple in Bratislava, the Lazarillo prize for illustration (twice), the Edelvives prize, and an honorary degree from the Latin American Prize for illustration, IBBY.
Satomi Ichikawa was born in Japan and moved to Paris in 1971. Over her long career she has produced several award-winning and critically acclaimed books for children.
Wilfried Gebhard lives in Germany, and has illustrated numerous books for children, many of which have been translated into other languages. He is also a successful cartoonist, and his work has been published in several newspapers and magazines.
Margaret Wild was born in South Africa and came to live in Australia in 1972. In addition to writing over 40 books for children, she has worked as a journalist and as a children's book editor. She is a courageous author, who strives to illuminate difficult life issues for young children. Her books have won numerous awards in Australia and in the U.S. She lives in Sydney with her two children, where she enjoys reading, listening to music and frequenting cafes.
