8 Steps to Captivating an Audience is a multimedia kit which includes a DVD, instructional guide, participant workbook, and rubric to assist individuals in developing state-of-the-art presentation skills that will embrace the audience and enhance the message. The skills are easy to learn, fun to use, and very effective for all types of presentations: classrooms, training, staff, meetings, conferences. They can be adapted to any topic and will make the audience sit up and take notice. They are content free, and can be applied to a wide variety of settings from classrooms and education to business, military government, parent and religious organization. Once mastered, they will help free the presenter to focus on the message, with a feeling of confidence in the way in which it will be presented!

If you are teaching a Public Speaking course, or trying to improve your own presentation skills, this program will help you in the following ways:The instructor introduces each step and directs the participants to read about each step in the Participant s workbook. The instructor then plays Step 1: The Approach on the DVD. This step is further explained on the DVD and modeled. Several participants are shown attempting Step 1 on the DVD and are gently critiqued. They repeat the process to improve if needed. After viewing this step on the DVD, each of your participants are asked to attempt the step and are gently critiqued by you the instructor. They then journal their reflections in their individual participant s workbook and score themselves on their rubrics.

The above procedure is followed for each of the 8 steps.

Once the participants have mastered the individual 8 steps they are now ready to attempt to put them all together in a presentation. The DVD shows participants doing a formal presentation including all four of the first 8 steps and being individually evaluated using the rubric. The instructor can now do the same exercise with his participants and evaluate them. In some training sessions, a variation of this evaluation has been used. Participants are asked to evaluate themselves and the other participants are asked to evaluate their peers and share their evaluations. Instructors may use any of these types of evaluations to assist their participants in improving their skills.

You will see the remarkable improvement in skills in the participants on the DVD from the beginning to the end of this program and we are sure you will see great improvements in your own and your participants skills in Captivating An Audience if your follow these 8 steps.
