Born in 1958, Dr. Sheila Burns was raised with her seven siblings. Her challenges in school and society were minimal, compared to what her daughters are facing today. Today, Dr. Burns has seven daughters of her own, and two granddaughters and a grandson. ''When God challenged me to write this book I felt so incapable -- I had never written a book before,'' she said. ''God said 'write about what you are good at, what you are living and doing everyday, raising girls'.''
Bible principles teach that training should come from the home, says Dr. Burns. As a result, she's written this book - a training concept - to aid mothers in becoming more effective in their roles as Teacher, Counselor, Disciplinarian, and Friend.
''As you embark upon the journey of this book, I pray that the sprit of God will convince, correct, and convict your heart to be turned to your daughter with a greater conviction. Read if with an open mind and allow God to renew your dedication as a mother.''
