Synopsis
Children can identify with Mollie Lesnikowski's whimsically fun adventure picture book "Greetings from Planet Wok" published by Southern Lion Books, Inc. Doctors, nurses, and parents will relate to the positive message the story provides about difficult times while being away from home and the miracle of coping. Our story follows Ion and Quark, inhabitants of Planet Wok. On the way home their space ship runs into trouble. One of the book's finest features is the lesson of kind acceptance between earthlings and aliens. The story is inspired by a whimsical bronze sculpture of the same name "Greetings from Planet Wok" by artist David Phillips located in the roof garden of the Yawkey Cancer Center of Massachusetts General Hospital. The sculpture includes a space ship made from two sandwiched cooking woks and aliens and earth creatures assembled from latex surgeon gloves.
"This beautifully illustrated book is a look at life's journeys and transformations and fits well with a meditative and healing garden." Citizen Gazette, Madison, Georgia

She attended The Art Students League in New York City and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Connecticut College.
