About the Author:

Janis Settle Murray recollected her childhood to create the characters and story of this, her first children's book. She is a former CNN correspondent in the Northeast Bureau in New York and television news reporter in Boston, Detroit, and St. Louis. Currently, she runs Murray Prep LLC, the company she founded in 2000 to provide communication training to individuals seeking college admission and employment. She is married to Dave Murray. They have one son, Austin. Dave Murray decided to become a meteorologist in fourth grade. He became the first nightly weathercaster who was a meteorologist on the NBC-affiliated station in St. Louis. National viewers got to know Dave as the daily weathercaster for ABC S Good Morning America, World News This Morning, and the ABC Radio Network. Dave holds twelve Emmy awards for excellence in weather forecasting and is currently chief meteorologist for FOX Television in St. Louis. A native of historic Charleston, S.C., Tony Waters has been drawing since he first scrawled pictures on the wall by his crib. Always fascinated by the world of picture books, he combined an art major at Furman University with courses in child psychology and early childhood education. He has illustrated ten children s books, including three that he also wrote, plus contributed numerous illustrations for Spider, Ladybug, and Babybug children s magazines.
