By October 24, 1951, when 18-year-old Arnold ''Frenchy'' Desprez was served his Order to Report, ''The Forgotten War'' had been raging for 16 months, and although truce talks had started, trench warfare was still constant.
Frenchy is a clever guy and with such high-tension times, as soon as he gets out of Minnesota he'll take you for one hell of a ride. From his days growing up and working on an ore boat to his days as ''FO Frenchy'' not a detail is spared.
Through it all, Frenchy will grow on you. His life is laid out for everyone to witness, as he earns more than medals for valor and purple hearts in the military. His experiences bestow upon him respect and sympathy--he shows you a real look into the lives behind a war that started 60 years ago.
Blending years of research on tactics and weapons, with emotional real-life stories obtained from countless interviews of those who were there, Destiny! also includes the author's own military experience and memories from the time.
