Wen Yiduo (1899–1946) was a famous poet in early twentieth century Chinese poetry. He studied art in the U.S. in 1923 and published his first collection of poetry Red Candle (Hong Zhu). He returned to China in 1925 and taught at universities. He was a member of the literary group Crescent Moon Society. In 1928 he published his second collection of poetry, Dead Water (Si shui). He was also active in political movements and was assassinated in 1946.
