ALL in ONE book with practice, recital, review, history, theory, classics & technique included. 134 pages; 50 original compositions; 2 ensembles. All compositions specifically chosen to teach the theory needed for that lesson or for review of previous material. Analyzing theory in every lesson that applies to the new piece in that lesson. This fast moving book is designed especially for the older beginner student. There are 6 rhythm tap exercises. This book teaches the entire bass staff and the treble clef up to middle line B. Your older beginners will not feel overwhelmed with this series! A suggested 16 lesson teaching schedule is included at the front of each book. Upon completion of this book, your students will be ready to take the State of Texas Level 2 Music Theory Examination or its equivalent. We use large notes and staves on purpose in this series. Even the adults learn much faster and with much more comprehension when the large notes imprint over a larger area of the brain during the learning process. The compositions in this series are NOT the "old familiar favorites" that adults like to hear because we want to teach the students how to read music on sight instead of playing pieces by "ear." Students must pass the Finish Line Exam at the end of the book before progressing to the next level (Level 3) in the Mayron Cole Piano Method.
