VISUAL C# FOR KIDS is a beginning step-by-step programming tutorial consisting of 10 chapters explaining (in simple, easy-to-follow terms) how to build a Visual C# Windows application. Students learn about project design, the Visual C# toolbox, and many elements of the C# language. Numerous examples are used to demonstrate every step in the building process. The tutorial also includes several detailed computer projects for students to build and try. These projects include a number guessing game, a card game, an allowance calculator, a drawing program, a state capitals game, Tic-Tac-Toe and even a simple video game.
VISUAL C# FOR KIDS is presented using a combination of over 450 pages of color notes and actual Visual C# examples. This teacher or parent facilitated material should be understandable to kids aged 10 and up. No programming experience is necessary, but familiarity with doing common tasks using a computer operating system (simple editing, file maintenance, understanding directory structures, working on the Internet) is expected.

“I successfully taught my 8th Grade grandson how to program in C# using Philip Conrod’s Visual C# programming tutorial. I am a retired software engineer who is well versed in C# and I wanted to use it to get my grandson exposed to programming. When I told him about the book he got excited about being able to write and play games. Using this book was a wonderful experience for me as a teacher. He was able to proceed at his own pace with very little guidance needed from me. The book is a really great resource for someone wanting to learn the C# language on their own. My grandson said that he got some real life lessons out of it as well. I think this came from his learning to think in the structured manner programming requires. By the end of the school year he felt he had obtained a very good grasp of the fundamentals of C# and that the book had made it really easy. We both highly recommend this book for those wanting to learn C# in a fun game orientated setting!” – Scott Adams, Grandparent, Pioneering Game Programmer, Scott Adams Grand Adventures
“My 13 year old son loves to program and is gifted on the computer. We used your book in our homeschooling, and he successfully made it through the Visual C# For Kids textbook. I am a professional programmer with 10+ years of C# programming experience. My feeling is that C# is the best programming language in the world, and Visual Studio is the best development environment.” – Michael Hewitt, Professional Programmer and Parent
