Tricks, Horses, and Rock and Roll is a trek back to an age when television time meant Cartoon Day Saturdays, playtime was an excise for perfecting pony tricks, and dinner was sitting together and eating with family, even if it meant ingesting Mom's mystery gravy. For Robb MacDonald, it was a childhood filled with hilarious stories.
MacDonald grew up against a backdrop of rodeos, ranches, farm fields, and fishin' holes. Always at the side of his older brother, Rowdy, he takes readers on adventure after adventure in the lives of two Northern Idaho cowboys. From elaborate home rodeos, complete with ''post-roping'' events, to Fourth of July firework wars, back when all the fun explosives weren't yet illegal, to the lengths a young man will go in the pursuit of Bazooka Joe bubble gum, MacDonald is sure to leave even the life-long city dweller laughing out loud and itching for a country getaway.
