Every story and example in this book comes from my direct consulting experience with CEOs of major corporations and members of their top teams. They also come from the teams of those top executives who report to the CEO. As a consultant, I'm well-known and somewhat of a wanderer within these companies and have the privilege of working with the executives on an informal, as-needed basis. They also have the liberty to call on me at anytime for advice and counsel in confidence. My client relationships tend to be years long. Here, I share with you the reader what I know works and doesn't work. I believe these ideas can be useful to you in your work and personal life.
Hear what Drew Houston, Chief Executive of Dropbox, (not a client of mine!) had to say in Corner Office. a weekly interview feature edited by Adam Bryant that appears in the Sunday New York Times Business Section. Houston's comment appeared in his interview on June 5, 2016: Figure Out the Things You Don't Know."Reading has been essential.
