Drover is not one of those dogs that roam the community. There is a powerful force that keeps him close to home. That force is his own selfishness. He lives in fear that his owner might pet Moses the cat. If there is any head to be scratched or ears to be ruffled, Drover wants to be sure they belong to him.
This collection of stories draws life lessons from the antics of dogs, cats, and other familiar creatures, applying Biblical truths in a lively and engaging format that children, young people, and adults will love. Each bite-size devotional takes only a few minutes to read, yet delivers a thoughtful observation about God or human nature that's worth pondering all day.

Gary Miller and his wife Marie live in a rural area of eastern North Carolina. They have seven children, all married, and thirty-five grandchildren. Many of these have been published in Beside the Still Waters and other periodicals. Gary is a partner in a family-owned garage door business founded by his father. Although Gary is still active, he is slowing down due to Parkinson's disease, with which he was diagnosed in 2007. He is the author of Shaking Hands with Mr. Parkinson.
