Inspired by a series of true events, Goya’s Ring is an action packed adventure story that tells the tale of Alessandra Santana, a beautiful opera singing Spanish Art historian on the trail of a priceless Goya masterpiece lost to the art world for 200 years and stolen by the Nazis. Written in the style of a marriage between “Monuments Men,” “American Treasure” and “The Da Vinci Code,” the fast paced novel takes readers on a journey around the world. Aided by the mysterious Gregor, investigative reporter Jorge and David, a fellow amateur opera singer whose family owned the painting, they confront innumerable obstacles to recover the painting. As a self-styled adventure junkie, Alessandra’s quest takes her and her team SCUBA diving in the depths of Palau and under ice in a lake in Germany. Ultimately compelled to break into a castle to recover the painting, the team then has to outwit police in hot pursuit. Eventually, Alessandra finds herself fighting for her life as a captive of a secretive crime syndicate. Along the way, Alessandra discovers her roots and falls in love with an unlikely suitor. The page turning novel binds together the anguished odyssey of Jews forced to convert during the Inquisition with the horrors of the Holocaust. A thrilling tale of intrigue and deceit, Goya’s Ring dives into in the shadowy world of art collectors and museums and finishes with a breathtaking twist.

Goya's Ring combines a Spanish art historian's search for a long-lost priceless painting confiscated by the Nazis, world travels and intrigue.
In a great bit of creative writing, Katz took 500 pieces of a jigsaw puzzle and put it all together - perfectly!. Katz's writing style is concise and clear, easily engaging the reader. The character development is simply brilliant. This is an adventurous, historical novel. One is unable to stop reading until you get to the last page - the very definition of a true page-turner!

Goya's Ring is an intimate and fascinating journey into the world of art theft brilliantly brought to life. The story fills you with anxiety and anticipation as the plot unfolds. The eerie feeling that something fishy was about to pop at any moment was present the whole time. As I read on, my mind could not resist formulating conspiracy theories, anxiously waiting to see them either proved wrong or right. Goya's Ring is a truly compelling piece of literature and it was an honor and my absolute pleasure to read it. Faridah Nassozi for Readers' Favorite
