An imaginative encounter with the sounds of 28 letter teams.
The single letters of the alphabet do not tell the whole story of English. Forty-nine letter teams, called multi-letter phonograms, consistently work together to make specific sounds. When children learn all the sounds made by each phonogram, they take a giant leap toward becoming strong readers and spellers.
While children delight in the sounds and images of this playful rhyming book, they learn all the sounds of twenty-eight multi-letter phonograms, including es. Discover twenty-one more in Whistling Whales by Denise Eide! Plus, explore all the sounds of the single letters A-Z in Doodling Dragons: An ABC Book of Sounds! This playful introduction to the sounds of the alphabet opens the door to reading and is certain to be a read-aloud favorite.
