Dognosticism! Be Real. Be You. BE THE DOG. Life is hard, but we make it harder than it has to be. This book reveals the secrets that dogs know about: *Why we lie, and how to stop. *What we really want, versus what we really need. *How to be honest with ourselves, and be honest with others, without hurting anyone.

Sanjay Gupta is an Oxford and Georgetown educated writer and Philosopher who has been pursuing a practical framework for understanding life's purpose amid a dizzying array of ideas and religious traditions. Perceiving Purpose is his offering after thirty-years of personal and spiritual inquiry. "There are at least two types of guide dogs that I know of -- one that helps us see when we can't, and one that help us see ourselves when we lose our way. This book is about what dogs can teach us about how to understand our decisions, our actions, and ourselves, if only we have the courage to look. My guide dog was a Basset Hound named Cody. This book is about what he tried to teach me about life and myself, and offered me the greatest gift anyone could give -- a sense of purpose."
Sanjay Gupta, a native of New England, studied Philosophy at Georgetown University and Finance and Strategy at the University of Oxford, Merton College.
His life ambition, to the puzzlement of his friends and family, has been to ranch dogs. Not permitted a hound as a child, Sanjay managed to adopt and smuggle a dog into his campus housing during college. There began his life-long struggle to balance dogs with work, making a series of head-scratching decisions along the way that have guided his wayward journey.
Over the course of his career, Sanjay has worked with Fortune 100 CEOs and Chairmen, Forbes 50 Billionaires, an array of brilliant entrepreneurs, and countless dogs. Of all his life experiences, he counts his crossing of the USA with his Basset Hound, Cody, as the greatest adventure of his life.
Sanjay was honored by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader in 2010, among less than 100 annually.
