Synopsis

Hashtag Queer is a collection of short work in all literary genres (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, scripts) written by and/or about LGBTQ+ people and lives. It includes short stories, flash fiction, poems, essays, memoirs, plays, screenplays, and monologues by writers who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, asexual, genderqueer, gender fluid, agender, non-binary, and straight. Many of the pieces are about different aspects of queerness and being queer, while others are about other aspects of life experienced through a queer lens.

Hashtag Queer: LGBTQ+ Creative Anthology, Vol. 1 includes previously unpublished and reprinted work by the following writers:

About the Author

ABOUT THE EDITOR 

Sage Kalmus is Cofounder/Co-CEO of Qommunity Media LLC and Senior Editor of Qommunicate Publishing. He's taught writing magical realism in Lesley University's MFA Creative Writing program, was an editorial intern for Dzanc Books, and a three-time reader for Salamander Magazine's summer fiction contest. Sage's fiction has appeared in Whisperings Magazine, Carnival Online Literary Journal, and Rose Red Review and in the upcoming Darkhouse Books anthology, Sanctuary. His nonfiction has appeared in The Writer and "The Hampshire Gazette". He wrote and directed three plays in San Francisco, including a one-man show in which he started. He earned a MFA in Creative Writing from Lesley University and a BS in Broadcasting and Film from Boston University. He lives in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts with his loving husband--fellow Qommunity Media cofounder/co-CEO & Qommunicate Publishing Associate Editor, Curry Kalmus--and their four-legged family.
