About the Author
Richard Sand is a historian and award-winning author of a dozen books including Girard College - A Living History, The Complete Handbook of Diplomatic Official and Social Usage, The Lucas Rook Mystery Series and Tunnel Runner, the acclaimed novel about the Vietnam War and its effects on those who experienced it. Sand is also a practicing attorney and was a college professor for decades. He served two governors as a member of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. Mr. Sand was honored by the State Senate for his contribution to the arts and is a member of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame and the Martial Arts Hall recipient of The Ben Franklin Award. Mr. Sand is married to acclaimed education and athlete, Kathie Daley. They have four children and three grandchildren.
