Synopsis
We are not exceptionally great at any one thing. We didn’t grow up with much, nor did we have any special talents that would have predicted we would be anything more than average. But we were given one special gift—each other—and a hunger for more.
Although we didn’t initially realize that this would be our unique superpower, we gradually learned to mold and harness it throughout our childhood and into adulthood. We got better at "twinning," both together and separately. We have achieved results far beyond what might have been expected given our modest upbringing, and we continue to influence the world around us simply by showing up and applying a simple set of principles—principles shaped by both our journey as twins and our humble beginnings.
We are writing this book not only to share this approach, which has had such a profound impact on those around us, but more importantly, to find the others—those who share this mentality and want to grow with us.
We are agents of change, but change requires a community. We are community builders and problem solvers, but that is only part of what we see as a full, meaningful life—one that fosters continuous progress. We need others to join us in deeply considering their place in the world and striving for more than what they have. We are the field where the seed is planted, but we don’t water the seed or do the work to grow it—we simply provide a place for it to take root and be nurtured.
Finally, we are writing this book because we are real people. We have kids, jobs, wives, weight struggles, and sleep issues. We don’t have trust funds or sponsorships. We simply want to grow, stay fit, and win—every single day.
From a very young age, we have been focused on self-improvement. Now, we have the tools to articulate why we can win. But the beauty of winning is not, in our opinion, about showing off—it’s about achieving more than you thought possible and becoming the best version of yourself. We strive to win each day, not because we always get it right but because we stay accountable to the process.
We do this because we have both the will and the skill to succeed. And we believe that everyone does—if they can relate to their challenges authentically, leverage the power of community, and get crystal clear on the incremental steps needed to move toward their goals.
About the Authors:
Matt and Blake Klingeman grew up on a farm in Eastern Washington and, from there, have parlayed simple rural principles to achieve outsized results. Both achieved master’s degrees and CPAs and are leaders of their respective companies. They both have three kids and beautiful wives, and they enjoy trying to be the best husbands, workers, friends, and family members they can be daily. With their attitude towards life, they change the circumstances around them and can teach you to do the same.
