Synopsis
VOYAGE TO XARAGUÁ/VIAJE A XARAGUÁ. Kayabó is excited to be joining male members of his family on a trading voyage to the far-away Land of the Maya. First, however, they have to build a piragua (like a canoe, but much larger), which turns out to be a very long and difficult process, while the entire extended family helps with preparations for the trip. The day of the piragua’s launching, Anani surprises everyone. This is Book Three in Dr. Lynne Guitar’s “Taíno Ni Rahú (Children of the Water) Series.” All 10 books in the series take place just as Christopher Columbus and his motley crews are about to disrupt the Taínos’ lives forever.
