Synopsis
La Bible de Jérusalem est le fruit de la traduction collective des textes hébreux et grecs par l'École biblique et archéologique française de Jérusalem qui lui a donné son nom. La première version est parue en 1956. La version actuellement imprimée date de 2000. La qualité des introductions, des traductions et des notes reflète le meilleur de la recherche exégétique contemporaine. La mise en pages réjouit l'oeil tout en facilitant l'intelligence du texte - l'usage de strophes signalant par exemple les passages poétiques. Cette disposition est devenue un modèle pour toutes les bibles modernes ultérieures. La Bible de Jérusalem est actuellement la traduction biblique la plus répandue en France, et fait figure de classique. La fidélité aux textes originaux en fait une bible d'étude. La qualité littéraire de sa traduction, la grande attention portée à son vocabulaire et à son style en font une bible pour la lecture, adaptée à tous les publics.
