La poésie, en France, est un genre très vivant, du Moyen Âge à nos jours. Elle fait partie du patrimoine d'une part, et des souvenirs personnels de chacun de l'autre. Aussi beaucoup d'auteurs connus, voire d'hommes politiques comme Georges Pompidou, ont tenu à faire un choix très subjectif dans cette riche matière. Aucune de ces anthologies ne ressemble à l'autre. Chacun retient un autre Victor Hugo ou un autre Verlaine. L'importance accordée aux différents auteurs varie et les éclairages changent. Parfois à un point tel que le lecteur est probablement dépaysé et voit d'un œil neuf ce qu'il croyait connaître. Ici, c'est un ancien normalien, très irrévérencieux, qui nous propose un parcours riche en surprises et en découvertes.

About the Author
François Revel s'est fait connaître par toute une série de livres de philosophie poétique et par des pamphlets retentissants, dont Pourquoi les philosophes, La Cabales des dévôts et Contrecensures (réunis, avec des textes sur Descartes et Proust, dans un volume de la collection " Bouquins "). Il a raconté sa vie et l'histoire de ses idées dans un volume autobiographique, Le Voleur dans la maison vide.
