About the Author
Eric Giacometti , écrivain, a été journaliste d'investigation, puis chef de service à la rubrique économie au Parisien / Aujourd'hui en France . Il a enquêté à la fin des années 1990 sur la franc-maçonnerie, dans le volet des affaires sur la Côte d'Azur. Il n'est pas maçon, mais participe à des conférences sur cette société discrète qu'il observe de près depuis de nombreuses années.
Jacques Ravenne , lui aussi écrivain, spécialiste de l'étude de manuscrits, est maître franc-maçon. Il intervient régulièrement dans des conférences et colloques sur la franc-maçonnerie. Conscient du fantasme suscité autour de sa fraternité, et de ses dérives, il reste attentif à une description rigoureuse de cet univers et de ses rituels. Amis depuis l'adolescence, férus de symbolique et d'ésotérisme, ils ont inauguré leur collaboration littéraire en 2005 avec Le Rituel de l'ombre, premier opus de la série consacrée aux enquêtes du commissaire franc-maçon Antoine Marcas. Ce duo, unique, du profane et de l'initié, a vendu plus de 2 millions d'exemplaires en France. La série, traduite dans 17 langues, du Japon aux États-Unis, a été adaptée en bandes dessinées par les Éditions Delcourt.
