Tout gosse, William Klein rêvait de vivre à Paris comme Henry Miller, Gertrude Stein, et Cie. En 1948, démobilisé de l'armée US à Paris, il y est resté - pour fuir sa famille et l'Amérique et devenir peintre. Très rapidement, il a trouvé une autre famille et la reconnaissance de son talent. PARIS+KLEIN rassemble des photographies, aussi bien en noir qu'en couleur, des premières faites dans les années soixante à celles réalisées quelques jours avant la mise sous presse en mars 2002 : des gens de la rue, des personnalités, des manifestations, la mode, les flics, les courses, la politique, le métro, le football, la mort... la vie de cette grande capitale avec le regard de Klein, vif, acide, mélancolique, humoristique, ironique, émouvant.
