Synopsis
L’objectif de cet ouvrage est de soumettre à l’examen les modèles théoriques de la linguistique. Il s’intéresse à la modélisation dans ses divers états, qu’il s’agisse d’une théorisation implicite non mise en question ou d’une théorisation en construction –cette dernière pouvant prendre la forme d’une activité épilinguistique ou d’une pensée métalinguistique élaborée et explicite qui se confronte à des faits de langue– ou encore de cadres théoriques soumis à la discussion et à la comparaison. Les analyses abordent différents domaines de la linguistique, à savoir la phonologie, la syntaxe et la sémantique.
The purpose of this book is to examine and assess the theoretical models used in linguistics. It deals with the construction of theoretical models, with the questions of implicit and unchallenged theorization, theorization ‘in the making’ –either in the form of epilinguistic activity or as explicit elaborated metalinguistic thought trying to cope with actual linguistic facts– or the discussion and comparison of theoretical frameworks. The analyses address various fields of linguistics, namely phonology, syntax and semantics.

About the Author
Viviane Arigne est professeur émérite à l’Université Sorbonne Paris Nord. Sa recherche se déploie principalement sur la modalité, la catégorisation nominale et des questions de théorisation linguistique.
Viviane Arigne is Professor Emerita at Sorbonne Paris Nord University. Her research mainly revolves around modality, nominal categorization as well as questions of theorization in linguistics.
Christiane Rocq-Migette est maître de conférences honoraire à l’Université Sorbonne Paris Nord. Sa recherche porte essentiellement sur les conditionnels, les relations inter-propositionnelles et la grammaticalisation de connecteurs déverbaux ou dénominaux.
Christiane Rocq-Migette is Honorary Senior Lecturer at Sorbonne Paris Nord University. Her research focuses on conditionals, inter-clausal relations and the grammaticalisation of deverbal and denominal connectors.
