About the Author
Gabrielle Roy (1909-1983) est née à Saint-Boniface (Manitoba) où elle a vécu jusqu'en 1937. Après deux séjours en Europe, elle s'installe définitivement au Québec. Son œuvre, qui comprend une douzaine de romans, des essais et des contes pour enfants, est reconnue comme l'une des plus importantes de la littérature canadienne du XXe siècle.
