This is a continuation of the history of Luftwaffe Unit, JG 2 Richthofen, who fought mainly in the French skies from May 1940 to August 1944 . The author was able to meet and interview most of the survivors of this squadron and copy their photos or documents of the time. These private documents and evidence related to those made available to the author by the official archives have allowed the development of a unique material that combines rigor and human dimension. The reader will find in this volume the very difficult situation of the squadron facing the rise of the RAF and USAAF 8th AF, in summer 1943, the evacuation of its airfields Brest, Caen, Triqueville , Beaumont-le-Roger, Bernay etc. to fall back towards Paris. The average life expectancy of a JG 2 pilot at that time, was limited to a few hours of flight. And these young men 20 years were well aware of their situation
