Synopsis
There is nothing parents want more than to feel we have a close connection with our children. Amy D. Singer’s Parent Support Group invites readers into the lives of a diverse group of people and their young adolescent children who are all attending the same school. Struggling in a society that seems to do its best to throw rocks in our paths and knock us down, the parents bravely choose to join a group of strangers for eight weeks to share in a process of change. Single parents, foster parents, a grandmother, and a couple gather together with a clinical social worker to find ways through the antics, drama, and grief their children bring home. Can the parents find common ground and let down their defences to hear what others have to say? Will they be willing to try different ways of doing things? There is beauty, heartache, and laughter ahead in the journey they are taking together.
