Book Description Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Hydrological modeling is an important issue fordetermining the hydrological responses of a basinunder several weather conditions. In order to modelthe Yuvacik dam basin, semi-distributed hydrologicalmodel studies were carried out with the Mike11 model. The basin with a drainage area of 257.8 km2 islocated in 12 km South East of Izmit city in Turkey. The largest peaks of inflow were observed when thestorm events occur due to both snowmelt and rain. Therefore, observed flows for the period of 2001-2006were grouped as daily and hourly storm eventsaccording to the event types such as rainfall, snowmelt or mixed events. Rainfall-Runoff Model (NAM)module of the model was used for the simulation ofdaily snowmelt and rain on snow events and UnitHydrograph Method (UHM) module was used for thesimulation of hourly rainfall events. A new methodology is suggested for the determinationof Curve Number (CN) of the sub-basins by using thefractional area and topographic index values combinedwith hourly model simulations. The resulting CNvalues were used in the UHM module and the suggestedCN approach has been validated with the classicalSCS-CN approach with GIS analysis. 148 pp. Englisch.
