In this bilayer tablet hydrochlorothiazide showed quick action and the sustained release of metoprolol tartrate maintain the drug concentration within therapeutic range for period of 12 hrs. Prepared tablets were evaluated for thickness, hardness, friability, uniformity of weight, disintegration time and dissolution study.
