In the end reason for adopting the profession, their working, travelling, living style and impact on their families has been discussed. Maids are professional workers who offer their services, on demand, to help other family women conducting their house chores. They are employed in those houses where people are not able to work themselves . Women come into this profession because of various reasons which are thoroughly discussed in the book.

About the Author:

Kokab Rashid Lone is a young Anthropologist, who has recently graduated from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan. Her first research paper was recently published in Academic Research International Vol: 4, Jan 2013, (part- 1). Her research focused on housemaids; which gives an insight to their culture and work.
