Beams are very important element in structures because of its widespread usage in steel and concrete constructions. As the amplitude of oscillation increases, these structures are subjected to non-linear vibrations which often lead to material fatigue and structural damage. These effects become more signifi- cant around the natural frequencies of the system. Therefore, it is very important to provide an accurate analysis towards the under- standing of the non-linear vibration characteristics of these structures. With the increase of size and velocity in modern machines, the analysis of vibration and deflection problems becomes more and more important in mechanical engineering design. On the other hand, finding an exact solution to the nonlinear vibration and deflection beams is difficult. Consequently, approximate analytical approach or numerical techniques can be used for this purpose. It should be mentioned that several books appeared on the subject of mathematical methods in engineering problem during the past decade. In writing this book my aim has been to present new approximate analytical methods for nonlinear vibrations and deflections of beams.

He received his Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Shomal university of Amol, Iran and M.Sc. degree in earthquake engineering from Tabriz university. His research focuses on nonlinear vibrations of vibratory systems and application of analytical approaches in civil and mechanical engineering.
