Specifically, the three states of Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana were the main recipients of the hurricane's destructive forces. The cost of this natural disaster was very substantial in more ways than just financially for these affected areas. This natural disaster cost many individuals their homes, way of life, and in numerous cases their actual lives.
