His songs filled with emotional pain, violence, and alienation, his eerie baritone voice, and his unique dancing style reminiscent of the epileptic seizures he experienced made him a hero of the post-punk era; his suicide at the age of 23 on the eve of Joy Division's first US tour confirmed the myth of the rock star dying young. The book is a visual diary, with hand-written notations, drawings, and a wealth of photographs. It details the creative process from pre-production through filming to post-production and first screenings.

About the Author

Anton Corbijn, born in Strijen, Holland, in 1955, photographer, filmmaker and designer, started his career in the 70s with portraits of David Bowie, Lou Reed, Miles Davis, and Peter Gabriel. He has produced numerous books, more than 75 music videos and many album covers. His photographic work has been widely exhibited throughout Europe, the US, and Japan.
