This book deals with preparation of tinted moisturizer. Instead of inorganic colour pigment, a natural pigment ß -carotene from a natural source, carrot is used. It is non toxic safe and has antioxidant property. ß-carotene is a precursor of vitamin A, it posses healing and cellular renewal property. It gets deposited in the horney layer where it produces a characteristic yellow colour in the thicker parts of the horney layer. To improve moisturizing property, soybean oil is used.Not only is it a effective moisturizer, but its intrinsic phyto-estrogen content is valuable in promoting good skin care. The present study presents isolation of carotene and incorporation of it in developed moisturizer also containing soy oil.

Dr. Satish Sakharwade has been working in field of Cosmetics for Last two and half decades. He is associated with academic bodies in universities related to Cosmetics and Pharmacy education. He is actively involve in research activities in faculties of pharmaceutical sciences and cosmetic technology.
