Throughout the greater part of the twentieth century metaphysics was deemed to be passé. The last few decades, however, have witnessed interest among analytic philosophers in various traditional metaphysical topics, which has resulted in the emergence of forms of analytic metaphysics. The new forms differ from traditional forms in their methodology and in the range of proposed solutions to particular problems. However, there are also similarities and some who develop traditional metaphysical themes using contemporary analytical methods. This volume provides a detailed exploration of these developments.
