About the Authors

Remus Gabriel Anghel (MA) is a PhD student at the faculty of Sociology, University of Bielefeld. Currently he is employed at the Romanian Institute for Minority Studies, Cluj. His research interests are migration and transnationalism.

Eva Gerharz (Dr. phil.) teaches social anthropology and development sociology at the Transnationalisation and Development Research Centre, University of Bielefeld. Her fields of research include globalization, transnationalisation, ethnicity, and development.

Gilberto Rescher (Dr. phil.) ist Soziologe und wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Lateinamerika Zentrum der Universität Hamburg sowie Koordinator der Hamburger Lateinamerika-Studien. Zuvor hat er an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum und der Universität Bielefeld gelehrt. Längere empirische Forschungsaufenthalte absolvierte er bisher in Mexiko, Nicaragua, den USA und auf den Philippinen. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte umfassen (Lokal-)Politik, Entwicklung, Migration, Transnationalität/Translokalität, indigene/ethnische Gruppen, Gender und qualitative Methodologie.

Monika Salzbrunn (Prof. Dr. rer. soc./Docteure en anthropologie sociale et ethnologie) ist Professorin für Religion, Migration, Diaspora an der Universität Lausanne und Direktorin des Institut de Sciences Sociales des Religions Contemporaines (ISSRC).
