This is a collection of piano pieces for young musicians by composer Alma Deutscher (born 2005). Alma says: Dear Young Pianists, I thought you might like to play some pieces by a composer who’s not a dead old man with a long grey beard who lived centuries ago, but a girl around your age who is alive right now. So I prepared this album of my own compositions especially for you. I have been composing since I was four years old. This album starts with the very first melody that came into my head, when I was four years old. And the most recent piece in it is a Tango that I composed last year, when I was sixteen. Some of the pieces are easier to play and some are a bit more difficult, and I hope you will find something that is just right for you. I hope you will like my tunes and have fun playing them! And who knows, maybe my pieces will inspire you to compose your own songs.
This album is also available in German with the title: Lieder für Klavier von Alma Deutscher
The pieces in this album are: The Leaning Song, The Lonely Pine-Tree, Up the Tree We Go, Bourrée for Gur, Incognito Waltz, Cinderella’s Song, Almoise, Slinky Tango, Lady Shell’s Waltz, Catching a Prince, The Boasting Song.
